La langue de bois (= wooden language)

un hôtel génial" (Why not BAGS applied?)

BAGS stands for:

Beauty
Age
Goodness
Size

Certain adjectives are placed before the noun, some which you can memorize with the acronym "BAGS":

B~Beauty: Un bel hôtel = A beautiful hotel

A~Age: Un vieil hôtel = An old hotel

G~Good and bad: Un bon hôtel = A good hotel

S~Size: Un petit hôtel = A small hotel

But "génial" (awesome) is an adjective whose meaning is not included in the "BAGS" ranking, so it is placed behind the noun, as the synonyms for "génial" show.

"Un hôtel génial" = "A great hotel"

Un hôtel sensationnel = A sensational hotel   , un hôtel exceptionnel, un hôtel remarquable

Un hôtel sympathique = A friendly hotel, nice, likable, pleasant, pleasing

Un hôtel convivial = A convivial hotel, user-friendly, facile à utiliser
