"Heureux" is more like joy, something deep and significant and maybe even lasting. It's stronger than "content". "Content" is more like "glad", "satisfied", and often more temporary

The only time one might say "de manteau" is in a negative construction, "...pas de manteau". It's the "pas de" that goes together. For "des" as it is in this exercise, it is simply the plural of "un", i.e., un manteau = a coat; des manteaux = coats. If there is a (BAGS) adjective before a plural noun, you would use "de" instead of "des". It's just a rule. For example:
- un manteau = a coat
- un beau manteau = a beautiful coat
- des manteaux = coats
- de beaux manteaux = beautiful coats
The qualities they describe can be summarized by the acronym BAGS: B for beauty: beau (beautiful), joli (pretty) A for age: jeune (young), vieux (old), nouveau (new) G for goodness: bon (good), meilleur (better), mauvais (bad), gentil (kind)
